An Otago born-and-bred photographer and videographer, I grew up spending holidays and free time in Central Otago and came back to settle in Wānaka after a few years of traveling and working abroad. As well as being an avid mountain biker, snowboarder and all-round outdoors enthusiast, I bring a lifetime of local knowledge and capturing the stunning natural landscapes of this area - and the adventurous spirit to capture it in epic ways.
I'm really passionate about photography and enjoy seizing the moment in a natural way so people can relive their special occasion, having timeless images and video that will tell the story about their day for years to come. I have a relaxed style and like capturing real interactions between you and your loved ones.
Forget your 90's-looking-awkward-posed wedding shots, I'm all about genuine, candid storytelling through my work. I’ll crack a beer and be one of your crew on the day - making sure everyone is feeling at ease in front of the camera.
I’m based in Wānaka, but love to travel. I’m available for weddings, engagements and pre-wedding photoshoots in the Wānaka, Queenstown and Central Otago areas - as well as across New Zealand and overseas. Events around Wānaka are generally free of travel costs, but I’m always very happy to hear your ideas for locations further afield. I'm always up for an adventure, so get in touch if you’re getting hitched somewhere local, overseas or in the wilderness!

I approached Ray to help take photographs of our secret proposal on Coromandel Peak. Ray did a great job at keeping the whole event a surprise from my partner pretending to be there to take photos for the helicopter company. Photos were top notch! We love the candid / natural vibes that goes with his photography style and he really kept the environment relaxing for us. We engaged Ray for our wedding video. He captured all the elements we asked from him and more. He was so present on the day, and engaged with guests and family so well. FAQs
Can you hold a date for us?
Yes, once the deposit is received and the details are confirmed. If you need to change your date once the deposit has been paid, then this can be arranged as long as the new date is available.
Can we meet?
Of course, I like to meet my clients beforehand to discuss any details. If for some reason we cannot meet in person, a Zoom call can be arranged so we can get to know each other prior to the day.
What size are the image files?
I typically deliver full size image files ready to print and also offer lower resolution files for uploading to social media or sharing with friends and family.
Do you do couples photography and elopements?
Yes, I do. Elopements, engagements, pre wedding and couples photography and they are usually the cheapest options. Please contact me for more information.
Are there any travel costs?
There could be. I'm based in the Wanaka area, but happy to travel if required. Events around Wanaka are generally free of travel costs, but please get in touch if you're planning to spend your day further afield.
How many photos will we get?
This depends on what package you book. I’ll make sure to capture all the best bits of your day and everything in between. Image numbers can be discussed when booking your day.
Do you shoot Video too?
Yes I do! Please get in touch if you have any special requests for video. I don’t typically shoot both stills & video at a wedding but I can cover a highlights package for your day if you’d rather have video coverage.
I’m awkward in front of the camera, will this be a problem?
Oh man, you’re preaching to the choir. There’s a reason I like to hang out behind the camera and I’ll do my best to put you and your partner at ease. I have a very relaxed style of photography and won’t make you do too much awkward posing.
How long will it take to receive our photos?
Typically image turnaround takes 3-4 weeks depending on the time of year. I’ll make sure to get a select few images to highlight your day within 3 days of the event to share with friends and family.
